Animals in the Aftermath of Hurricane Katrina

All of the attention in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina has been focused on the human tragedy. The animals, both pets and livestock, had been largely ignored by the media except when it had to do with people directly. Now we're hearing and seeing about all the dogs, cats, and other animals left behind to fend for themselves during and after the hurricane. Where to Send Your Monetary Donations

A lot of the SPCAs and Humane Societies across the U.S. are helping the shelters in the affected areas with personnel for rescue operations and offering shelter space. These organizations need donations for the effort.
